AIWaysion once again joined the PacTrans Region 10 University Transportation Center Transportation Conference as a sponsor and exhibitor, marking our fourth consecutive year participating in this Pacific Northwest transportation research event. The conference was held October 9, 2026, at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Brian Brooke, MBA, MPP and Dr. Wei Sun represented AIWaysion with two technical presentations sharing lessons from the company's real-world Edge AI deployments. In Session 1A, "AI & Connected Transportation Safety," the team presented on multimodal intersection monitoring and real-time safety interventions using Edge AI and connected traffic control systems. In Session 2B, "Smart Infrastructure & Monitoring," they discussed lessons learned from deploying minimally infrastructure-dependent Edge AI roadside monitoring systems for traffic safety and asset management in rural, Tribal, and cold-region environments.

At the AIWaysion booth, attendees saw a live demonstration of the company's Edge AI roadside monitoring system, which has been deployed in Anchorage since 2025 in collaboration with Vinod Vasudevan, Ph.D., P.E., and the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities. The demo highlighted real-world capabilities including pedestrian-vehicle near-miss detection, vehicle yielding behavior analysis, pedestrian crossing activity tracking, road-user trajectory mapping, and multimodal traffic and operational performance analytics.

The 2026 Region 10 Transportation Conference brought together more than 150 participants from transportation agencies, academia, and industry, with strong representation from Alaska's local transportation community, including many first-time attendees and Tribal representatives. AIWaysion congratulates the PacTrans, NW Tribal Technical Assistance Program, and Washington State Transportation Center teams, along with the conference's keynote speakers and organizing committee, on a successful event.

We look forward to building on these connections and continuing to strengthen transportation research, innovation, and partnerships across the Pacific Northwest.
